| Sister Higley shared some fun and inexpensive ideas for teacher gifts. She bought all of the items at the dollar store. Isn't the frame cute? I love how she covered it with crayons. She also made cute magnet boards using burner covers, paper, mod podge, and ribbon, I would have never thought of doing that! The magnets were made using the clear rocks with paper on the back. The last idea used a pack of Rolos, with paper wrapped around it and a Hersey's Kiss glued on the bottom to make a pencil. Teachers would love these gifts and you wouldn't break the bank telling them thanks for all they do! |

| Sister Stoker shared some great ideas for Family Home Evening. She started out by saying that there is no excuse! We need to make it a priority each Monday night! What a great time to teach our children of the important truths of the gospel. | Sister Nesbitt made this poster filled with great thoughts and ideas you could give to the sisters you visit teach. We will have it hanging up during Relief Society so you can refer to it. We had time to discuss some commonly asked questions about visitng teaching go here to see some of the answers. We also encouraged all of the sisters to read Chapter 7 in Daughters in My Kingdom...it is a beautiful chapter on visiting teaching and its purposes. "Sister Elaine L. Jack, the twelfth Relief Society general president, taught: "In visiting teaching we reach out to each other. Hands often speak as voices can't. A warm embrace conveys volumes. A laugh together unites us. A moment of sharing refreshes our souls. We cannot always lift the burden of one who is troubled, but we can lift her so she can bear it well." (pg. 119) We encourage all of you to get to know each of your sisters so you can be there to celebrate the good times with her and if necessary help her bear the hard times as well. |

I'm thinking party planning is in each of their futures :) Here were some of their suggestions: -Set a budget -Decide a Theme- What the birthday person enjoys, Blogs, Pinterest, Google, Ideas site -Decide Where to have the party: park, church, your home -Develop a Timeframe: how many people will attend, invitations (send out 2-3 weeks ahead), decorations, food, etc... -Purchase Decorations: KSL, Dollar, Store, Michaels, Oriental Trading (give yourself enough time), $1 bins at Target -Plan the Food: allrecipes.com, Family recipes or traditions, Cakes, Pies, Lunch/Dinner -Decorate: Day of or night before, have fun, Try to think of the person you are throwing the party for |

She has her kids write down summer activity ideas and put them in a jar, or if they are bored they choose an activity from the book above. | Welcome back to High School! We had a great time reminiscing about the good ole' days! We ate from the school cafeteria which featured: sloppy joes, chips, jello, veggies, milk, and yummy cake! We listened to a fun mix of music from the 60's to the present and played a fun game of Generation Bingo! |
