FALL MINI CLASS RECAP: Hair Styles for girls

Sister Williams and Sister Gramse taught us how to do little girls hair. Sister Williams taught us how to do a messy bun check out this video on You Tube.  She gave us a great tip of using a toothbrush (a clean one of course) on little girls hair instead of a comb or a brush.

Sister Gramse taught us how to do a bow bun that is so cute. Go here for the tutorial.

FALL MINI CLASS RECAP

We had such a great night, thanks to all those who contributed to our mini classes.  We learned some great things.  Here's a quick recap.

Sister Kearl, & Sister Mitchell taught us how to wear scarves now that cold weather is approaching.   We learned how to be warm and fashionable this fall & winter. You can go here to see 40 ways to tie scarves, it will give you a video tutorial for a lot of different types of scarves and creative ways to tie them.

Sister Gambles talked to us about Family Scripture Study.  We talked a lot about finding the time that works for your family (morning, dinnertime, evening).  We also talked about apps that you can use to help with scripture study.
-Chapter Tap- will let you pick a starting and ending date and will tell you how many chapters you need to read each day in order to reach your goal.  $1.99
-Gospel Library- will let you read you scriptures on your phone.  You can use it to listen to scriptures in the car if you have the mp3 hook up.  (free)
-What are some other apps you have found helpful with scripture study?

Sister Selander taught us some creative ways to wrap and give gifts.  You can pin some of the ideas off of her Gift Ideas pinterest board.  Go here, to see some of them (you will probably have to be a member of pinterest).

Mid-week Activity: Service Auction

Mid-Week Activity:  Service Auction
When: Tuesday, Sept. 18 @ 6:30 p.m.

Where: The Church
How it works:

1. Everyone brings an item (or more than one), usually something they have made (i.e. crafts, treats, or an offer of service) for others to bid on.

2.Upon arrival, you will fill out a service survey. This survey will ask you questions such as How many loads of laundry you did this week, How often you read your scriptures, or If you have read to a child this week. For each answer there is a point value. (For example: If I did 5 loads of wash this week I might get 25 points.)

3. The points earned are used to bid on the items others brought. We have some amazing items sisters have signed up to donate. Baked goods, blankets, cute crafts, a photo session, and tons of other things! If you haven't ever been to a service auctions, you are in for a treat tonight! Please join us for a fun-filled night of bidding and bonding! Hope to see you all there!

Mid-week Activity

You are invited to visit the
Humanitarian Center
Thursday, June 21
6:45 p.m.

Come with us and take a tour of the Humanitarian Center and see how the process works from start to finish.  Our tour starts at 7:30 p.m. so we will leave the church in carpools at 7 pm.  This is a great opportunity to learn about some of the ways the church helps those in need around the world.  Also, find out ways you can contribute to the humanitarian center if you are interested.  Don't miss out on an uplifting night!

There will be NO NURSERY provided since we will not be meeting in the building.
